11:24 am - Gaming update for Pudges!
|
|
Ok, since I'm home, and Pudges is at gymnastics with the little monkeys, and since we recently talked on the phone, she asked me to post here for responses. We want to game! The Prince needs some sort of wrap up/closure before she leaves for the wilds of further education, and dang it, I miss playing with you guys! So, who would be available to game, say, tomorrow night? If that's too soon, when is the soonest you could come and party with the party a bit more? ^__^

10:57 am - Life update: going to have a real one
|
Ok, so, I'm now self-employed again. After consulting with friends, family and the boss I can talk to, I decided my time at the mortgage company was up. Yesterday was my last day. I left my keys, and walked out of there feeling better than I have in months. Of course, this is when the real work starts. It's time to do my thing and make a living at it. Or die trying. Ok, maybe not die. Anyway, I'm really grateful to have good friends who give me excellent advice, and I'm also really grateful that I have friends in and out of the country, so if I have to leave the country, I can hide out in Canada with awesome people, and that if it's safe enough to stay in the country, I have other friends who will hide me from the law. ^__^
I'm going to try to be a little better with updates, especially now since every day will not be the same long slog and then trying to do something creative and/or important when I finally get home. Wish me luck. I'm nervous and scared and thrilled and excited and feel pretty energetic. I feel happy and peaceful, too. I think it's a good sign.

1:35 pm - Proof Readers Needed (Or editors. Seriously.)
|
Because I laughed when I was sent this by a co-worker:
Man Kills Self Before Shooting Wife and Daughter This one I caught in the SGV Tribune the other day and called the Editorial Room and asked who wrote this. It took two or three readings before the editor realized that what he was reading was impossible!!! They put in a correction the next day.

Yeah, it's been awhile. A long while since I've written, or wanted to write, or updated or wanted to update. I'm actually still feeling a bit ambivalent about posting, but hey, you all know the best and the worst of it pretty much anyway, so even though there haven't been huge amazing changes, at least nothing here's gonna surprise you.

Ok, so. It looks like I'll have to ask for time off next Thursday and Friday to attend this show. I don't personally have a problem with that, but D might. But I'm not sure that worries me overmuch.
Also, tonight will be the biggest looking full moon of the year. I hope it snows or whatever it need to do for the cloud cover to move along. Also, tonight is the start of the Geminid meteor shower, which I hear gets brighter every year.
Also, tonight I'm going on a dinner-and-dancing date. Ballroom type dancing. So I have to get home ASAP and clean up a bit after work. Yes, I'm a little nervous. Yes, he's picking me up and paying for dinner. No, I don't know how to dance. He says "we're just going to have fun, don't worry", so I'm not worrying too much.
( Additional boring stuff. )

1:41 pm - My co-worker saves my sanity for today
|
"The accident occurred in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. This is a phone call from a man who witnesses the accident involving four elderly women. It was so popular when they played it on C.H.U.M. FM, they put it on their website. The guy's laugh is contagious. Just close your eyes and picture what he sees. If you can’t open the clip from here, then just cut and paste it into your browser. It’s so funny. You have to listen to it."

10:11 am - Emergency announcement
|
Ok, so I got a call last night about the art and jewelry show. The building isn't ready or something, and they still need to clean up inside it, and stuff going on and running behind, SO, the show is NEXT Thursday through Sunday, December 18th through December 21. *sweatdrop*
Soooo, nothing tonight, nothing tomorrow or Friday or anything, but who will still be around those days? Is anyone willing to help out next week instead of this week? Sorry for jerking you all around. I guess I have enough time to complete some calligraphy after all. ^^;;

2:17 pm - The next big con. Er, uh, show.
|
Ok, so the big news this week is that I've let my friends talk me into doing another jewelry show, but this one is in Salt Lake, not Spanish Fork, and it's an "art, jewelry and gift show", not a "craft" show. If I'm really lucky, we'll have people coming to spend money on exactly that, instead of wandering around to look at "magic" silcon-rubber tape and home-made soaps and wreaths made out of starlight mints. Please - pray, send good vibes, cross your fingers, visualize the universe sending me happy customers who want to buy my stuff - anything you'd like to do to help this show go well. I'd appreciate it very much.
( Times and location and help? )

And now the real challenge from dayglow_pirate: Name five things that you've done that you think no one on your friends list has done and five things that you would like to do that your friends list would not.
I have: 1. Attempted to walk back to the hotel on the outskirts of Rome after staying out so late the metro and buses had shut down. 2. Completed minor surgery on myself. 3. Had raw horsemeat sushi in Tokyo. 4. Seen the sun rise at the Easternmost part of the United States. 5. Been courted by a 5'2" Imperial stormtrooper, but ended up dating Darth Vader.
I'd like to: 1. Build a really nice home up in some really nice trees. 2. Work with and train big cats. 3. Weave a medieval style tapestry. 4. Train horses how to joust (after I wash off all the big cat smell). 5. Complete a few books as fully illuminated and calligraphy written manuscripts - hand bound, of course.
